In 2001, with an end goal of helping drive growth and innovation, Mattel's Worldwide Consumer Insights Department, along with Commnispace, created The Playground–a highly engaged online community of 500 moms with kids aged 3–10, to help them deepen access to insight into the lives and needs of moms. They succeeded.
